2026 CEO Retreat

2026 CEO Retreat —

2026 CEO Retreat

Foellinger Foundation’s 2026 CEO Retreat brought together 52 Allen County nonprofit executives for two days of reflection, connection, and renewal. Held May 13–14 at Oakwood Resort in Syracuse, Indiana, the retreat centered on the theme of resilience and created space for leaders to step away from the demands of their organizations, strengthen relationships with peers, and consider how their personal well-being influences their leadership. Facilitated by Ritch Hochstetler of ULEAD, Inc. and Suzanne Smith of Social Impact Architects, the experience combined leadership development sessions with self-selected wellness and renewal activities. Participants left with practical strategies, stronger support networks, and renewed energy to lead sustainable organizations and better serve Allen County residents.

My Role

I led the end-to-end planning and execution of the two-day retreat, translating the program vision into a seamless and restorative participant experience. While Foundation leadership selected the facilitators and developed the program content, I managed nearly every operational aspect of the event.

  • Developed and managed the planning timeline, budget, and project deliverables.

  • Coordinated the venue, lodging, catering, audiovisual needs, transportation, and wellness activities.

  • Managed registration, participant communications, room assignments, dietary needs, and special accommodations.

  • Served as the primary liaison among facilitators, Foundation staff, venue personnel, vendors, and attendees.

  • Prepared event materials, schedules, signage, participant gifts, and on-site resources.

  • Developed the detailed run-of-show and coordinated program transitions and event logistics.

  • Led on-site setup and execution, troubleshooting issues, and supported participants throughout the retreat.

  • Managed post-event follow-up, evaluation, invoice reconciliation, and recommendations for future retreats.
